Arie Storm

Biography

Arie Storm (b. 1963) aims to refine a cerebral style in which the repetition of trivial observations and thoughts plays a large role; the effect is somewhere between banality and beauty. He made his debut with Hémans duik (Héman’s Dive, 1994) which was nominated for the ‘Debutantenprijs’ (prize for new prose writers). His literary satire Hemellicht (Heavenly Light) appeared in 1997. This was followed by De ongeborene (The Unborn, 2001) and Afgunst (Envy, 2003).
