Literary Translation Expertise Centre 2008-2012

From 2008 to 2012, the Steunpunt Literair Vertalen (Literary Translation Office) will continue its activities under the name Expertisecentrum Literair Vertalen (Literary Translation Expertise Centre). This is a co-operative venture involving the University of Utrecht and the Lessius Hogeschool in Antwerp.

Similar to the current Steunpunt Literair Vertalen, the Expertise Centre will co-ordinate the training and development of skills among literary translators, both those who translate foreign work into Dutch as well as those who translate Dutch work into foreign languages.

The Expertise Centrum will collaborate with the Nederlands Fonds voor de Letteren (Dutch Foundation for Literature), the Vlaams Fonds voor de Letteren (Flemish Foundation for Literature) and the Nederlands Literair Productie- en Vertalingenfonds (Foundation for the Production and Translation of Dutch Literature) in order to attune itself as much as possible to the aims and needs of literary policy in the Netherlands and Flanders.
