Poetry Supplement with Poetry Review

The autumn issue, entitled Dreams of Elsewhere, of the British poetry magazine Poetry Review is accompanied by the supplement Contemporary Dutch Poets, which presents nine Dutch poets. The aim of the magazine is to present its readers with poetry written outside the United Kingdom and to place British poetry in an international context or, as chief editor Fiona Sampson writes in her editorial, ‘International writing is the context of excellence in which the best British poetry sits; Poetry Review is committed to this vision’.

The nine Dutch poets in the more than 60 pages are: Rutger Kopland, Remco Campert, Eva Gerlach, Arjen Duinker, Maria van Daalen, Albertina Soepboer, Mustafa Stitou, Erik Lindner and Ramsey Nasr. The poems were translated by Willem Groenewegen, Donald Gardner, John Irons, Renée Delhez, Susan Massotty, David Colmer and Paul Vincent.

Both the autumn issue and its supplement are published in an edition of 4,000 copies. On Thursday 11 October the new issue was launched at the Dutch embasssy in London, featuring a presentation by Eva Gerlach.
